3 of us were at Ridge Lake Sun and today and managed 5 Brookies around 1.5lbs. Seen lots but were not very aggressive. A group of 3 other guys left with their limit yesterday but don't know what they were using.

Where is ridge lake, and how much ice was there? Were you fishing real shallow? I've always wanted to site fish trout through the ice, but never have known where to go...how long do they stay up shallow? thanks

Ridge Lake is in the Steepbank/Clarence Lake wilderness park near East Trout Lake about 150kms north east of Prince Albert. There was about 6 inches of ice near the shore but I am sure it was not as thick near the middle as you could see places that looked thin. We fished around 3-4ft of water but I have no idea if they are in the shallows anymore.
